Well, having not seen Beyond the Dunwich Horror, I can't really say whether I'll like it or not. However, regardless of how good (or bad) it may be, I still can't fathom how it could be worse than any David Lynch movie, nor can I fathom how it could possibly be a worse H.P. Lovecraft adaptation than Cthulhu.

@ Jackabi:

Although I would agree that the film is confusing, the production is clearly micro/low budget, and it does take a lot of liberty with the expansion of the Dunwich story, I certainly wouldn't say, "Beyond the Dunwich Horror has got to be the worst film I have ever seen. Ever. " This is obviously hyperbole, because there are much...much worse films out there.

You have to remember, BtDH is coming from true indie roots. You really have to enjoy popping in a film of this budget level and have fun with it...I don't at all want to justify the film's obvious shortcomings with story and plot development...because they are there certainly. But to call it the worst film, period, ever. Is a little harsh.

Yes, I was involved in the film...I'm a bit bias...but I can put myself aside, honestly, and say that there was a lot of the film I very much enjoyed watching--and there are a *lot* of films out there I can't say that about. Man you think Dunwich was bad? I could send you some links...oooo weee. :)

Anyhow. Thank you for the honest review. I am not here to justify, or to badmouth you...you have a right to your tastes and opinions. I really do enjoy reading both positive and negative reviews of films I've worked on...of course I like to see more positive. :) And lastly, you have to keep in mind...the director Richard Griffin has kicked out 9 feature films in the past 5 years...all of which are seeing distribution. That's pretty impressive. If you don't like Dunwich, try another one of his films...you may very well love it-they are all unique. I personally recommend NUN OF THAT.

@ Joe:

Hey man. Zombie Allegiance was a lot of fun to make. Ultra ultra low budget, lots of cool people working on a cool idea. It's still in post production, but should be out soon (the director/writer's wife had a baby--that can put an indie film on hold).

The concept is certainly a new take on zombies...I mean what geek doesn't love post apocalyptic mixed with zombie? If you hated Dunwich, however, you may not like ZA...however the story in ZA is much easier to follow, which is good.

If you're interested in following ZA...I suggest you find Tony Nunes (director/writer of ZA) on Facebook, and friend him...or see if there is a fan page...I think there might be.

Take care. And thank you for allowing me to voice my thoughts.

On a side note, if eXistenZ (one of my favorite trippy Sci-Fi films, by the way) has anything to do with Zombie Allegiance or is, in fact, Michael Reed, I would love to see it. Zombies and post-apocalyptic fun? How could it be anything other than great? Any chance of getting a previewing or possibly an invite to the premiere?

Would love to read the bad review of Beyond the Dunwich Horror. Who is the girl that was on the show at around the 37: mark saying it was the worst movie ever. Where can I find her review? Thanks in advance.
