If you have a Playstation 3, and you don’t own Infamous, give your PS3 to a smart friend. And I don’t want to hear all the fanboy yippity-yappita about Prototype being “100 times more awesomes-er”. For some reason when a system gets an exclusive title, people seem to feel that the game should automatically have one point added to the overall score; crazy game comparisons pop up, and the opposing system’s sexuality comes under fire (more like Gaystation). It’s like people think that if a game that is exclusive to a particular system isn’t good, it lessens the overall value of the system itself.
But none of that matters for this review! That’s right, I’ve been blathering on about nothing this whole time. Sucks to be you. It doesn’t matter, because Infamous is what every superhero game that has ever been made, should have been. Unless there was some kind of superhero whose super power was to be super-lame, and someone made a super-lame game about that superhero for some reason… if that’s the case, then I stand corrected.
Climbing around buildings is as easy, and looks as good as it does in Assassin’s Creed, but get this: you don’t even have to hold a button. And who wants to hold buttons? Seriously? All of your powers are cool, because they’re based on electricity, and there aren’t very many things more awesome than electricity (duh). The game, handles pacing very well, with you spending some time killing bad dudes by shocking them and throwing them off of things, or into things, and jumping on them from the top of a building, then kicking their lifeless corpse in front of a train (What? They were probably a murderer or something), and when you think you can’t mindlessly kill anymore criminal scum, you drop down into the sewers to spend some time platforming and puzzle solving. Just when you are about to be tired of being so awesome, they make you do some other awesome kind of thing.

I’ve heard a lot of complaints about the graphics, and while they are nothing new, there isn’t really anything to complain about here, people. The current generation of games keep managing to dig up ways to make things look better, but perhaps they have delved too greedily and too deep. Buy this game, play it. Stop being a dummy!

Gaystation! HA! Well once I get a PS3 I’ll have to pick up this game.
Yeah, having played Prototype and found it to be mediocre at best, I sincerely hope Infamous is a better game. If it has post-2007 graphics it’s automatically better.
