BT - Rose of Jericho

As Promised, BT released the first single off his upcoming new album today titled “Rose of Jericho.”

I took me several listens to really digest this song, as with most works of BT.

For those looking for a form of electro-pop, let me first warn you that this track is purely electronic. While some songs on his new album will feature some vocal work, this is not one of them. Do not, however, let that deter your from listening to this.

It appears that in “Rose of Jericho” BT has taken what he’s learned from This Binary Universe and applied it to the roots of the genre. This track brings me back to the days of Robert Miles with its hypnotic beat, then manages to hit me over the face with BT’s own, very unique, style of melody. Each second is meticulously crafted to perfection, developing what feels like verse and chorus from a serious of highly manipulated beeps and clicks, BT is a true poet of sound.

But enough of me blabbering, lets have a listen shall we?

The best thing about BT, is that i know each track on this new album of his is going stand out from the other completely, I cannot imagine what surprises he has in store for us. This track in particular appears to be designed to dominate the dance floor, i expect it’ll be heard in clubs across multiple nations in no time flat.

You can find this single and some remixes on Beatport and if you want instant BT news, great pictures, and laughs, be sure to follow him on Twitter.

What? You want a score? BT is the Chuck Norris of Electronic Music! He is above such things!

As far as electronica goes, I’ve always been more into trance. Stuff like Tiesto and van Buuren. Been totally hooked on Above and Beyond’s stuff lately too.
